ROSBOROUGH GETS RECORD IN WIN
TYLER - Sherman Rosborough wears jersey number two for Longview's football team, but the number that described Rosborough best on Friday was four. A fantastic four for the Lobos, because that's how many interceptions he had.

Rosborough's third interception and 29-yard return helped set up a 1-yard touchdown plunge by Jazmon Moon with 1:50 left, icing a 24-10 win over Tyler Lee before 8,500 spectators at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

Rosborough had three interceptions in the second half, and the four he had in the game doubled his season total to eight. Rosborough also has at least one interception in Longview's last four games.

"I never thought I would have a game like this," Rosborough said. "The coaches told me not to get beat."

The win improves Longview to 5-2 this season and 2-0 in District 12-5A, while Lee drops to 5-2, 1-1. The win also sets up a showdown for first place against John Tyler (3-4, 2-0), which defeated Mesquite Horn, 28-7, on Thursday. The Lobos face John Tyler at 7:30 p.m. next Friday at Lobo Stadium.

Longview was in danger of blowing a 10-0 halftime lead. Marcus Jackson found Jacob Amie for a 13-yard touchdown pass with 7:50 remaining to help tie the game at 10-10. Amie, who has orally committed to Texas Tech, had five catches for 119 yards, all in the second half.

But on the next play, Chris Lacy returned the kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown. Lacy muffed the ball, but then found a seam in the right side of the line and sprinted away. It was Lacy's fourth return for a touchdown this season, returning two fumbles and a blocked field goal previously.

"This was a team touchdown. The guys did a great job blocking. I think Stevie Johnson got a big block for me," Lacy said. "I knew it was just a matter of time before we got a kick return for a touchdown this season."

Lee had the ball on Longview's 34-yard line on its first drive, but on a fourth-and-four, Longview linebacker Antajun Guinn stopped Chris Ekwuruke for a three-yard gain to give the Lobos the ball back. Longview took advantage on the ensuing drive with a season-high, 47-yard field goal by Zach Decker.

However, it was a difficult game for Decker, as he missed field goal attempts of 35 and 31 yards and the extra point after Lacy's touchdown.

Longview extended its lead on its next drive thanks to an apparent blown coverage by Lee, which left Longview tight end David Larsen wide open and quarterback D'Marcus Miles found him for a 53-yard gain. Moon ran in from two yards out on a Miles pitch on the next play to help give the Lobos a 10-0 lead with 1:54 left in the first quarter, a score that they would hold at halftime.

Moon rushed for 72 yards on nine carries in the first half and finished 119 yards for the game.

Longview's defense held Lee to 105 total yards in the first half. Guinn forced Ekwuruke to fumble with six seconds left in the first quarter, which was recovered by Lacy.

Jackson passed for 217 yards, but Lee was held to 48 yards rushing on 28 attempts. Lee has scored just 20 points in its two 12-5A games this season.

Miles threw for 163 yards, with three passes going to Johnson for 104. Johnson made a 43-yard diving reception midway through the fourth quarter to the Lee 34-yard line, as Longview controlled field position and forced Lee to pass, helping Rosborough with his pass-picking prowess.
