LOBOS DOMINATE DRAGONS
LONGVIEW - It was a moonless night Oct. 9 but the Longview wolf pack needed no full moon to run wild on a devastion frenzy.

Once again the Lobos took the ball scored on their first outing, making it the fifth game this season they've done so. Under the pitch black sky, they ravaged, they roamed, accumulating 20 points in the first quarter.

Eric Faggett was like a fleet comet out of control as he raced for 100 yards in just the first half. The offensive phalanx also unleashed 290 total offensive yards in just the first half. It was brutual.

It was 36-0 at the half. In the previous match-up against Texas High, the Lobos exploded for 35 points by the half. The Lobos blasted away for 21 first downs to Nacogdoches' six, forging out a figurable rout.

234 yards came on the ground as Ray Allison stripped across the goal line for the first three scores. The Lobos started out their mission with a 73-yard drive on 10 plays. Allison slashed through up the middle for 4 yards. Like lightning, the score was 7-0.

Allison scored again after the defense recovered a Dragon fumble. After a short 22-yard attack on four plays, Allison charged on a 3-yard run to claim his second score. His third scoring was heralded after another 3-yard rush with 3:27 to play.

On the fourth touchdown, Eric Faggett burst into the end zone from the four-yard line. Faggett had two touchdowns for the game. Faggett scored again on a 4-yard run with a little over four minutes to play.

In the second half the Lobo phalanx didn't take down their bivouacs. They went out on a routing maneuver with field general Mike Bobo leading his platoon and scoring from one-yard out in the third quarter.

Quarterback Selwyn Broughton showed his exclusive speed and charged 18 yards for a score with 2:37 to play in the game. Broughton has speed and quickness and maybe a dangerous quarterback in the near future.

While the offensive platoon had their casualties mounted, the notoious Lobo defense, known locally as the Mean Green unit, left Dragon debris in their wake. Quarterback Dedric Morrison was subjected to a cold nightmare as the defensive front line targeted him.

As the offensive acted as the infantry platoon, the defense definitely was seek and destory-the Green Beret unit.

Anthony Jimmerson stole another pass to give him three interceptions on the year. The Lobo secondary can be nicknamed the "anti-Air Force." No passes are easy to get through this secondary.

The Lobos established 364 total offensive yards, with 308 of that total in the rushing department and 56 yards passing. The Dragon were held to 73 yards passing.
